I’m not a religious scholar nor would I ever claim to be. I was however brought up in a Catholic Democratic home, that was very common during the 60’s and 70’s. Mainly due, in my opinion, to the popularity of the Kennedys’. As a child I attended a K-6 catholic grade school. Attending mass was part of the curriculum. The indoctrination of religion at the hands of those responsible for my early education had a long- lasting effect on me. One of which I was not aware of at the time. I was a young white boy in a small blue-collar town in the Midwest. I thought this was the way of life that every kid in America experienced. Playing baseball, going to school, attending church. So, I am very familiar with what is contained in the bible and the message behind the words that Jesus shared.
I no longer practice religion or believe in it
Let’s take look at Matthew 25. Of course, I am paraphrasing here, and these are my opinions and observations… Jesus spoke of the final judgment where all nations will be gathered before him, and he will separate people into two categories "sheep" and "goats".
The "sheep" {the righteous} will be blessed for caring for the hungry, the thirsty, for strangers, for clothing the naked, healing the sick, comforting the imprisoned, giving shelter to the homeless, and lifting the needy.
He said to his apostles - “when you do unto others you do unto me”
The "goats" {the wicked} will be cursed for neglecting the hungry and the thirsty, the strangers. Failing to: clothe the naked, heal the sick, comfort the imprisoned, giving shelter to the homeless and lifting the needy.
Very much like the modern day Maga Christo Fascist. Who cut funding for school lunches and snap programs. Who removed protections and guardrails to prevent pollution from being dumped into our water ways assuring that our waters stay clean and safe for us to drink. Who have gutted our healthcare system stripping away available and affordable healthcare to millions of Americans, even defunding children’s cancer research. All for the purpose of “eliminating government wasteful spending” and paying for another tax rate cut for the billionaire elitists. Who want to throw everyone who commits a crime into prison. While privatizing it and create a cash cow for themselves. Who want to make the death penalty the law of the land. Who want to imprison our homeless or just kill them…
Who look upon those in need as being lazy freeloaders. Who look at strangers who are simply seeking a better life for themselves with hate and disgust. Who want to build a wall to keep them out and for those “strangers” who are already here living amongst us they want to kidnap them, put handcuffs on them and throw them out. Who are now racially profiling people because of the color of their skin, the color of their hair, or simply how they look, the accent they speak with, or because someone, anyone, does not like the way they look, or because they have “suspicions” of them
The Maga Christo Fascist are White Supremacists. They are Christian Nationalist. They are a modern reinvented form of the KKK with the same beliefs that are deeply rooted within that organization. They claim that they live through the bible. Mike {Moses} Jonson, a Southern Baptist, one of the original white supremacists’ groups in our country, was once asked by Sean Hannity to share his beliefs, Johnson responded,
“Go pick up a bible off of your shelf and read it Thats my worldview”
They believe that America and the Founding Fathers created a Nation deeply rooted and aligned with the Bible, God and Religion. They are masters at creating false narratives about truths and facts, and their cult of followers eat the shit up. Because that is exactly what they want to hear and what they believe themselves. America's foundation WAS NOT heavily influenced by the Bible or by God. The concept of separating church and state was central to the vision of many Founding Fathers, particularly Jefferson and Madison. They believed in this separation to be a vital part of creating a Democracy for all the people. They believed in protecting religious freedom, not to allow the government to use it as a means to govern or as law over the people. They also believed in free speech, the right to assemble in peaceful protest, the right of free press, and the right to petition, criticize, the Government. This is what the 1st Amendment is all about and why they made this THE 1ST AMENDMENT! Religion is a freedom bestowed to the individual in our Country. Not as a foundation to govern its people by. Something that Maga Christo Fascist fail to grasp the true understanding of. The same way they fail to grasp the true understanding of the teachings and words spoken by Jesus.
After the murder of CK, and all of the things that have come from it. The hateful rhetoric and threats targeted at Liberals and those of the LGBTQ+ community, the escalated attacks on Liberal Democrats, the threats made to numerous HBCU’s across our Country, the flat out lies and misinformation that is pouring out of the mouths of the extreme right wing Maga Christo Fascists, and the speed at which all of these things occurred. And now with the, let’s call it for what it was, the KKK rally in Arizona. We have entered an extremely dark and dangerous time in America where Maga Christo Fascist and the White Supremacists are gaining more and more control with every passing hour.
We now are witnessing a direct full-frontal attack on numerous rights that are protected by the 1st Amendment. Arrests being made for protesting, teachers being fired for sharing their personal opinions, comics being silenced, shows designed for entertainment being taken off the air because someone has a problem with what is being said, the FELON PRERSIDENT wanting critics of him to be arrested and jailed, and the press being warned about the content that they report. And so much more…This is straight out Fascism! Period! There is no other way of defining it or explaining it. This is what is happening in our Country. Maga Christo Fascism in full blown assault mode on the American Democracy! The similarities to Nazi Germany are deeply disturbing.
Those claiming to be Christ like, Christians, who claim to live their life according to god’s word and by the bible. They are doing nothing of the sort. Once again, they are Maga Christo Fascist, White Nationalist, White Supremacists. Who use scripture, a bible and Christian theology to justify their fascist political beliefs. That’s who they truly are.
If Jesus, a brown man from the middle east, walked amongst us today. They would kidnap him, slap handcuffs on him and throw him into a detainment camp to rot away without giving a second thought of doing anything different.
So, the lesson today from this old liberal hippy from Indiana.
